A Lexington man has been charged in connection with a shooting in Elizabethtown that left two men dead and a woman injured.
Taynandree Reed, 28, was arrested by officers with the Versailles Police Department at 5 p.m. Thursday, according to the Elizabethtown Police Department.
Reed has been charged with murder, first-degree assault and first-degree robbery in connection with the May 13 deaths of Michael Demond Buckner Thomas and Shawn Fox, as well as the shooting of a woman who survived, Elizabethtown police said.
Fox, 32, and Thomas, 37, both of Hopkinsville, were shot inside a car driven by the woman who was also shot at an apartment complex in Hardin County, the Elizabethtown News-Enterprise reported.
Elizabethtown police said they identified Reed as a suspect in the case and thanked other law enforcement agencies for helping them apprehend him.
The News-Enterprise reported that a Versailles police officer walked past Reed at a Kroger store in Woodford County Thursday afternoon and recognized him.
Officer Jude Remilien, who initially found Reed, and Officer Coleman Sparks together arrested Reed after a short foot pursuit, Versailles police said in a Facebook post.
