Sheriff deputy’s car shot at. Kentucky teenager wanted for attempted murder

A Kentucky teenager is wanted for attempted murder after a shooting on Saturday, Bardstown police said.

Police said a man fired a shotgun into the driver’s side of a Nelson County sheriff deputy’s personal vehicle at around 4:30 a.m. Saturday. The deputy was driving the car at the time of the incident, police said.

The Bardstown Police Department identified Tyrin Livers, 19, as a suspect. He’s wanted for attempted murder and theft of a firearm.

Livers is considered to be armed and dangerous, police said.

“We are very relieved that our deputy was not injured,” the Nelson County sheriff’s office said in a Facebook post. “Please reach out to the Bardstown Police Department if you have any information regarding this shooting.”

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact 502-348-6811. They can also contact Nelson County dispatch at 502-348-3211, and can call 502-348-4382 if they wish to remain anonymous.

This incident occurred less than a month after the seven-year anniversary of Jason Ellis’ death. Ellis was a Bardstown police officer who was shot and killed in a case that is still unsolved.
