‘Armed and dangerous’ kidnapping suspect leads police on chase in Kentucky

Stanford police apprehended an “armed and dangerous” kidnapping suspect Tuesday morning after a four-hour search in Lincoln County.

The suspect led authorities on a car chase before leaving the vehicle and fleeing on foot, police said.

During the search, there was a heavy police presence between the Cash Creek, Forrest Hills and Indian Trails subdivisions, Stanford police said.

“Residents are encouraged to remain in their homes,” Stanford police said on Facebook. “Others should avoid the area as officers work to attempt to locate the subject.”

Lincoln County Emergency Management announced the search was ongoing just before 3 a.m. Emergency management announced the suspect had been caught just after 7 a.m.

The kidnapping victim was safe, and those involved were not from the Lincoln County area, emergency management said.
