Gas nozzle, hose left in tank get Lexington fugitive caught on the interstate
A fugitive from Lexington was taken into custody Thursday after a vehicle was spotted driving on Interstate 75 with a gas nozzle and hose attached, police said.
Sami A. Elias, 62, was stopped by Kentucky State Police in Scott County while driving a 2003 Mercedez-Benz with a gas nozzle and hose hanging out of the gas tank, Kentucky State Police said.
The sergeant who stopped Elias learned Elias was a fugitive. Elias was wanted for stealing over the counter drugs at a CVS in Pennsylvania, police said.
Elias was taken into custody without further incident and taken to the Scott County Detention Center, police said.
