Northern Kentucky middle school teacher charged with child sex crimes, records show

A Northern Kentucky teacher and athletic director was charged with child sex crimes, including sodomy, according to court records.

Jason Schwartz, 32, was charged with sodomy of a victim under the age of 12, sex with a minor under 16 and another count of sodomy, according to court records. He was arrested Sunday and taken to the Campbell County Detention Center, according to the jail’s website. He was being held on a $500,000 bond.

Schwartz is a teacher and athletic director at Woodland Middle School in Taylor Mill, according to the Kenton County School District’s website.

Jessica Dykes, spokeswoman for the Kenton County School District, said the district was aware of the arrest and Schwartz had been suspended “pending the outcome of the investigation.”

“We are cooperating with local authorities,” Dykes said in a statement.

Schwartz, a Dayton resident, was scheduled to be arraigned in Campbell County District Court Monday, according to court records.
