Man found with gunshot wound near University of Kentucky campus, Lexington police say

Lexington police are investigating after officers found a man who had been shot near the University of Kentucky campus early Wednesday.

The man was found in the area of Limestone and Huguelet Avenue around 3:30 a.m., according to Lt. Ronald Keaton. Police weren’t able to immediately determine if the man had been shot where he was found or somewhere else, Keaton said.

The victim didn’t give officers details on who had shot him, where he had been shot or why he had been shot, Keaton said.

The man was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, Keaton said. Detectives are investigating, he said.
