Driver crashes into a Lexington home. Police find him shot inside the vehicle

A man was in the hospital Wednesday after being shot while driving in Lexington, police said. The shooting caused him to crash into a house, police said.

Police were originally dispatched to the scene just before 2:45 a.m. on Georgian Way off Lane Allen Road for a call about a vehicle crashing into a house, Lt. Ronald Keaton said. When officers arrived, they discovered the driver who crashed into the home had been shot. He had potentially life-threatening injuries, Keaton said.

The man was taken to a local hospital, Keaton said. Police are investigating, but no suspect information was available, Keaton said. Police didn’t release any information on how the shooting unfolded.
