Fire causes ‘heavy damage’ at Lexington hookah bar. Arson suspected.

The Lexington Fire Department is investigating as arson a fire in early September at Off Tha Hookah, a hookah lounge on Euclid Avenue.

The business sustained “heavy damage,” and an investigation determined the fire was intentionally set, the fire department said in a statement. Fire crews responded to the scene around 4 a.m. on Sept. 5.

No injuries were reported, Batallion Chief Jordan Saas said.

The bar was closed Thursday and the phone line wasn’t connected.

The fire department is looking for the public’s help in determining who was responsible for starting the fire. Those with information were urged to call the Lexington Fire/Arson Investigation Bureau at 859-231-5672, Lexington Police at (859) 258-3600, or email arsontips@lexingtonky.gov. Photos or videos can be texted to (859) 421-0112, the fire department said.

All tips are anonymous, according to the fire department.
