Kentucky woman accused of killing husband during argument over horse
A man in Breckinridge County died when his wife allegedly shot him multiple times during an argument over a horse and a saddle, according to Kentucky State Police.
KSP said its assistance was requested for a shooting on Lonnie Haynes Road early Wednesday. Amanda Devers, 33, was charged with murder in the death of her husband Dennis Devers.
According to KSP, Amanda and Dennis Devers were arguing over a horse and a saddle when Dennis Devers was shot multiple times outside of their home. A coroner confirmed that Dennis Devers died at the scene.
Amanda Devers also suffered a single gunshot wound when she accidentally shot herself in the foot, according to state police. She was taken to Baptist Health Hardin for treatment and was later released.
Dennis Devers’ body was taken to the Kentucky medical examiner’s office in Louisville for an autopsy, KSP said. Amanda Devers was taken to the Breckinridge County Detention Center.
