Bullet goes through car seat, hits 2-year-old inside car in Henderson

A two-year-old was hit by gunfire on Monday and is in stable but serious condition, according to the Henderson Police Department.

Police said they initially responded to a call of shots fired in the area of Powell Street and South Adams Street in Henderson. Upon arrival, officers found the child suffering from a gunshot wound.

The child was in a car seat in the rear driver’s side of the vehicle, according to police. The vehicle had just stopped at a stop sign when it was struck with a bullet.

That bullet went through the vehicle and car seat before striking the infant.
