Man arrested, charged with raping former UK student in campus dorm room

A man from Winchester has been arrested for allegedly raping a former University of Kentucky student in a dormitory on campus last September, according to court records.

Jadan Farris, 22, is facing one count of first degree rape, according to the Fayette County Detention Center log. He was booked into the jail late Monday evening.

Farris is accused of raping a woman in a Chellgren Hall room on Woodland Avenue on UK’s campus. According to court documents, Farris was visiting the victim’s residence and when the victim went into her room, he shut and locked the door behind the victim and then raped her.

Court documents say the victim yelled at Farris to stop. When the assault ended, Farris allegedly told the victim to get dressed and leave like nothing happened.

The suspect was never enrolled at UK, a UK spokesperson said.

The spokesperson confirmed the victim was enrolled at UK at the time of the assault but has since withdrawn.
