Reward offered for information about a dead dog dumped behind Lexington businesses

Lexington-Fayette Animal Care and Control is looking for information about a dead dog that was dumped behind businesses on Russell Cave Road last week.

Surveillance footage shows the incident taking place at 5:52 a.m. Thursday, according to a Facebook post from Lexington animal care and control. The dead dog was in a crate when they were dumped.

The surveillance video appears to show someone in a mask throwing the dog and the crate out of the back of a pickup truck.

Bluegrass Crime Stoppers has offered $1,000 for a tip that leads to an arrest of the suspect, according to Lexington animal care and control.

Anyone with information about the animal or the suspect should contact the Lexington-Fayette Animal Care and Control cruelty investigator at 859-255-9033 extension 229.
