Eastern Kentucky man accused of having sexual abuse material of a minor, police say

A man from Eastern Kentucky is accused of manufacturing child sex abuse material and using someone under 16 in a sexual performance after an investigation yielded evidence to the crimes, according to Kentucky State Police.

William Ferguson, a 27-year-old Ashland resident, has been charged with 10 counts of using a minor in a sex performance, one count of sexual abuse and one count of sodomy, according to state police. He was taken to the Greenup County Detention Center and held on a $500,000 bond, court records show.

State police said they were notified Tuesday that Ferguson had possessed images of child sexual abuse material and had potentially sexually abused a child. An investigation revealed that Ferguson had manufactured child sexual abuse material and had sexually assaulted a child under 12 years old, police said.

Ferguson was scheduled for an arraignment Wednesday morning, police said.
