Kentucky State Police locate Central Kentucky inmate who escaped custody

Police have located an escaped Madison County inmate two days after he walked away from a career center and now faces a new charge.

Billy R. Lowe, 43, was apprehended on Wednesday around 3:30 p.m. by The Kentucky State Police, Harlan Post in Knox County. Lowe is a resident of Gray, police said.

The Kentucky State Police Richmond Post began looking for him after he walked away from the Bluegrass Career and Development Center on Monday.

Lowe was serving a sentence for manufacturing methamphetamine and faces a new charge of second-degree escape, according to KSP Trooper Justin Kearney. He is being housed at the Knox County Detention Center.
