Updated: Police locate Richmond man who is person of interest in death investigation

A Richmond man has been arrested after he was named a person of interest in an investigation into the death of a Lee County woman.

Madison County Detention Center records indicate Logan Reed, 33, of Richmond, was arrested by the Richmond Police Department. Jail records showed Reed was booked into the Madison County Detention Center at 11:50 p.m. Tuesday and charged with a parole violation. State police confirmed that the parole violation charge was unrelated to the death investigation.

Kentucky State Police announced earlier Tuesday that Reed was a person of interest in the death of Tamika McDaniel, 52, of Beattyville. Police did not call Reed a suspect.

An investigation into McDaniel’s death is ongoing after authorities found her skeletal remains inside a burned structure on KY-52 W in Lee County on Sept. 7.

The investigation is being conducted by state police Detective Anthony Bowling.
