Lexington shooting causes ‘critical’ injury, cops say. Suspect charged with domestic assault

Lexington police have charged a man with assault — domestic violence after a shooting happened late Saturday night, according to police.

The shooting happened at approximately 11:47 p.m. in the 100 block of Lakeshore Drive. Police said a man was shot inside a residence, and he was transported to a hospital with critical injuries.

Police determined the shooting happened after an argument between the victim and Daquan Robertson, 29. Robertson has been charged with assault — domestic violence and is being lodged at the Fayette County Detention Center on a $5,000 bond, according to jail records.

Robertson will make his first court appearance Monday at 1 p.m., according to court records.
