Updated: 5th person charged in connection to a deadly stabbing in Eastern Kentucky
A fifth person is facing charges in connection to a deadly stabbing in Bath County, according to Kentucky State Police and court documents.
Donald Puckett, 45, of Owingsville, has been charged with murder, according to court documents. Puckett was arrested along with the other four suspects but state police previously said he was brought in on unrelated charges.
Puckett’s arrest citation said two men got out of a van along the sidewalk of U.S. 60 in Owingsville and started an altercation with 41-year-old Christopher Bussell. The occupants of the van located Bussell and circled around the block waiting for him to approach an intersection.
Bussell was later found with multiple stab wounds in a yard at a home on East High Street in Owingsville, state police said.
A few days after the stabbing state police said they arrested four individuals in connection to the killing. Shannon McCarty, 20, of Owingsville, has been charged with murder and harboring a fugitive; Priscilla Hunt, 42, of Morehead, has been charged with conspiracy to commit murder and harboring a fugitive; Joslyn Brooks, 18, of Stanton, has been charged with conspiracy to commit murder and harboring a fugitive; and Krystal Hardin, 40, of Owingsville, has been charged with conspiracy to commit murder.
Additional charges could be possible pending presentation to a grand jury, state police said.
