Updated: Victim of deadly Lexington shooting was 18 years old, coroner says

The Fayette County Coroner’s Office has identified the man killed in a shooting at Castlewood Park Sunday morning.

Damar Weathers, 18, was pronounced dead on scene at 9 a.m., according to the coroner’s office. He’s the city’s fifth homicide victim of 2023.

Officers were called to Castlewood Park Sunday morning around 8 a.m. and found a man who’d been shot and killed, police said in a news release.
