A potentially “armed and dangerous” shooting suspect who was previously at-large was arrested in Lexington Saturday, according to jail records.

Akbar Mubelela, 18, was wanted on charges of first-degree assault and first-degree robbery stemming from a shooting that happened Wednesday in Bardstown. Mubelela was booked into the Fayette County Detention Center Saturday on those charges.

He was being held on a $250,000 bond Monday, according to jail records.

The shooting happened shortly before 10:45 a.m. on the 100 block of Ashberry Drive, according to police. One person was shot and sent to University of Louisville Hospital. The victim was in stable condition, police said Wednesday.
