A former employee of the Warren County Jail has been charged with having illegal sexual contact with an inmate, according to Kentucky State Police.

Aaron Bommarito, 28, of Franklin, faces four counts of third-degree sodomy, a felony punishable by one to five years in prison, and one charge of first-degree official misconduct, a misdemeanor.

The case started in April when Jailer Stephen Harmon asked state police to check on a complaint of inappropriate sexual contact by a former employee who had worked at the jail only three months, according to a release.

The incident reportedly happened in September 2021.

A grand jury in Bowling Green returned charges against Bommarito.
