One dead after a police shooting in Northern Kentucky, officials say

Kentucky State Police are investigating after a shooting that involved police in Covington left one man dead Sunday afternoon.

State police were requested by the Covington Police Department to investigate the shooting, which took place at Glenway Avenue in Covington around noon, state police said. They arrived on scene shortly after to begin their investigation, which is still ongoing.

One man was taken to the University of Cincinnati and died, according to state police. A Covington police officer involved in the shooting was treated for non-life threatening injuries, a news release noted.

State police did not release information about what led up to the shooting.
