Kentucky high school band director indicted on several sexual-related charges
The Anderson County High School band director was indicted on several sexual-related charges Tuesday after he allegedly had an inappropriate relationship with a student, according to a press release from the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office.
Patrick Brady, 37, was indicted on four counts of first-degree unlawful transaction with a minor, two counts of third-degree sodomy, third-degree rape, first-degree sexual abuse, promoting a sexual performance by a minor, unlawful use of electronic means to induce a minor to engage in sexual activities, and tampering with physical evidence, according to the sheriff’s office.
He was arrested Tuesday and booked into the Shelby County Detention Center later that evening. Brady was being held on a $100,000 bond Wednesday morning, according to court records.
Sheila Mitchell, Anderson County Schools superintendent, said Brady was suspended with pay on May 15 when the report of inappropriate conduct came out.
“I will be addressing his employment status as soon as I can get additional information, and I am currently in the process of working on that,” Mitchell said.
The sheriff’s office and Kentucky State Police began investigating Brady after receiving complaint about the alleged relationship, the sheriff’s office said.
It’s unknown if Brady is still employed by Anderson County Schools.
