Suspect arrested in shooting near Bryan Station Road that left one person seriously injured

A Friday afternoon shooting in Lexington left one person injured, according to police, and a 20-year-old man has been charged.

The shooting happened shortly before 1 p.m. in the 1400 block of Anniston Drive, which is in a neighborhood off of Bryan Station Road. Meredith Taylor with the Lexington Police Department said one person was sent to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Kaleb Peterson was arrested soon after the shooting and is charged with first-degree assault and violation of conditions of release, Lexington police announced in a news release Friday night.

He was being held in the Fayette County Detention Center.

There were no other details about the shooting available, Taylor said.
