The man was declared dead on scene, according to Truex.

On Friday, the Fayette County Coroner’s Office identified the man as Dennis Trujillo Jr., 18.

The Lexington Fire Department confirmed Trujillo’s death on scene and requested the coroner’s office response. The coroner’s office declared Trujillo dead at 4:42 a.m.

An autopsy was performed at the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Frankfort Friday, the coroner’s office said in a news release.

Truex said police are investigating the shooting. No suspect information was available.
