Kentucky shooting results in attempted murder charge, police say

A man is charged with attempted murder and wanton endangerment after a shooting in Bardstown on Saturday night.

The Nelson County Sheriff’s Office responded to a verbal disturbance on Boston Road Saturday afternoon around 12:30 p.m.

When they arrived, they started life saving measures on 41-year-old Ashe Lydian of Bardstown.

Ashe Lydian was transported to Flaget Helipad by Nelson County EMS where AirMethods then transported Ashe to University of Louisville.

During the investigation and while processing the scene, 75-year-old Joseph Lydian of Bardstown was detained and questioned.

He was later taken to the Nelson County Correctional Center and charged with attempted murder and wanton endangerment, according to officials.

The shooting is still under investigation.
