Lexington police officer arrested for DUI, has been taken off duty, officials say

An off-duty Lexington Police Department officer was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, according to officials.

Officer Rachael Curnutte was arrested on July 21, after an officer observed her driving her personal vehicle on Man O’ War Boulevard, spokesperson Hannah Sloan said in an emailed news release.

During the course of the investigation, officers determined Curnutte was under the influence of alcohol. She was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol.

Effective Sunday, Curnutte was relieved of sworn duties and transferred to an administrative assignment while the incident is under review.

As of Sunday, Curnutte was not listed as being in the Fayette County Detention Center.
