A Lexington aquatic center was broken into recently and will likely be closed for a few days as a result, according to the Lexington Police Department and the Herald-Leader’s reporting partner, WKYT.

On Monday, police received a report of criminal mischief at the Tates Creek Aquatic Center on Gainesway Drive. Police said a building on the property was broken into and items were thrown into the pool.

WKYT reported many items were thrown into the water, including glass items. Officials will close the aquatic center for a few days while they drain the pool and clean up the debris.
