Owners move from Lexington home, allegedly leave behind dogs crated without food, water

Local investigators are asking for the public’s help in finding three suspects linked to an animal cruelty case in Lexington.

Lexington-Fayette Animal Care & Control said it’s searching for Catherine Meriwether, Adriana Meriwether and Demetrius Clay. The trio are accused of moving out of a home on Emerson Drive and leaving behind two dogs intentionally confined in crates without food or water.

One of the dogs died while the other survived, according to animal care & control.

Animal Care & Control is asking anyone with information on the suspects’ whereabouts to come forward. People can reach Animal Care & Control’s animal cruelty investigator Lt. Jai Hamilton at jhamilton@lfacc.org or the Lexington Police Department at 859-258-3600.

“Only with your help can we make a difference and protect the innocent lives of our beloved animals,” Animal Care & Control said in a Facebook post.
