Man dead after Saturday night shooting, Lexington police say

Detectives with the Lexington Police Department are investigating a homicide that killed a man Saturday night, according to officials.

Lexington police were dispatched to the 700 block of Biskoff Court around 8 p.m. Saturday in reference to a shooting where they located a man with a gunshot wound.

The victim later died at a local hospital from his injuries, police said. The victim was identified as 60-year-old Jose Manuel Salazar, according to the Fayette County Coroner.

The investigation is ongoing. Police did not release any suspect information.

Saturday night’s homicide is the city’s 11th fatal killing in 2024.
