3-month-old baby dies after Lexington police say he was abused by two people

The Fayete County Coroner is investigating the death of a 3-month-old baby after Lexington Police say two people abused the infant.

Greyson Torres was pronounced dead at Kentucky Children’s Hospital Oct. 2 from multiple blunt force traumatic injuries due to alleged criminal abuse, the coroner said in a press release. The death is being investigated as a homicide.

Two people are facing abuse charges, but additional charges may be coming after police said Thursday morning the child had died.

According to an arrest citation, 20-year-old Amancio Torres-Trevino Jr. abused Greyson, a relative of his, resulting in serious injuries to the infant’s head and torso, as well as internal injuries. When the child arrived at the hospital, doctor’s described the injures as life-threatening.

The arrest citation says Torres-Trevino was alone with Greyson on Sept. 29 at 2800 Alumni Drive, and the injures are from the physical abuse.

Kaela Breann Walker, 20, is also charged in the case. Her arrest citation says she never reported the abuse to law enforcement or social workers or tired to stop the alleged abuse.

Both were charged with first degree criminal abuse of a child, 12 or younger.
