Woman arrested after dismembered body found in Kentucky home
A Kentucky woman has been arrested after a dismembered body and cooked body parts were found at a Robertson County home.
Kentucky State Police say 32-year-old Torilena May Fields of Mount Olivet was arrested Thursday and charged with obstructing governmental operations, tampering with physical evidence and abuse of a corpse.
The body was found in the 3500 block of Brierly Ridge Road in Robertson County, near Mount Olivet. The person who called police said they thought the body belonged to Fields’ mother, Trudy Fields.
Police said more charges may be coming.
According to an arrest citation, a man called police after finding the dismembered body behind the home.
The man told police he and another man were hired by the homeowner, Trudy Fields, to work on a building on the property.
He visited the home on Tuesday, according to the citation, and both Trudy and Torilena Fields were there. Torilena, he said, was “casting spells” on them and being “confrontational.”
When the two men returned the next day to work on the property, Trudy Fields was not there. They followed drag marks to the back of the house and found her dismembered body, according to the citation.
Police said her arms, legs and head had been removed. They also found a blood-stained mattress near her body. It was folded over, and several body parts were inside.
Torilena Fields was inside the home when police arrived, according to the citation. She had blood on her face, hands and clothing.
Police also found a pot in the oven that they said contained cooked body parts.
Torilena Fields is being held at the Bourbon County Detention Center and is scheduled for arraignment on Oct. 14.
Robertson County is about 50 miles northeast of Lexington.
