Body found in Scott County outside wrecked vehicle has been identified
A man’s body was found alongside a road in southern Scott County Friday, outside a wrecked vehicle that officials say was tied to a robbery in Lexington.
The man was identified as Kadeem Jackson, who was found with a single gunshot wound, Lt. Robert Tackett, of the Scott County Sheriff’s Office, said Saturday.
The Scott County Sheriff’s Office said deputies were called to Lisle Road Friday morning because of “a vehicle off the roadway that appeared to be involved in a collision.”
When they arrived, deputies found “a deceased male outside the vehicle.“
The sheriff’s office later said the vehicle involved was a black SUV that had been reported stolen overnight in Fayette County.
“Foul play is suspected,” Tackett said in a statement Friday.
The Lexington Police Department said officers were called to Kearney Ridge Boulevard at 1:39 a.m. Friday for a report of a vehicle that was stolen in a robbery involving a gun. The victim said they were driving on Georgetown Road when the robbery occurred.
Scott County Coroner Mark Sutton said the body was taken to the state medical examiner’s office in Frankfort for an autopsy.
The Scott County Sheriff’s Office asked anyone with information about Jackson’s death or knowledge of his whereabouts on Thursday night to call them at 502-863-7855, text a tip to 859-509-0510 or send a message via Facebook.
