Woman, 20, dies after being shot by boyfriend who later killed himself in Nicholasville
A 21-year-old man shot and killed his girlfriend early Saturday, then went to his family home and killed himself, Nicholasville police said.
Isabella Mae Walsh, 20, was found dead with two gunshot wounds when police responded to a call about a shooting at a home on Edwards Road early Saturday, the Nicholasville Police Department said in a news release.
Police said they identified her boyfriend, Willy Milfort Jr., as a suspect and got a warrant for his arrest.
Milfort had fled from the home on Edwards Road after the shooting and went to his family home on Winners Circle, according to police.
“As members of the Nicholasville Police Special Response Team approached the residence in an effort to apprehend Milfort, he took his own life,” police said.
Police said they are continuing to investigate and extended their condolences to the families and community members affected.
