Man found shot, killed Sunday afternoon on Fairmont Court in Lexington

Authorities report a gunshot victim was found dead in Lexington around midday Sunday.

Lexington Police Department officers were called to investigate shots fired at the 2700 block of Fairmont Court around 12:15 p.m.

Officers said they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. He died at the scene. The Fayette County Coroner is expected to identify the victim.

Detectives from the personal crimes sections are investigating, and no suspect information was released.
