A man and woman from McCreary County have been arrested after a 14-year-old boy died from serious injuries, according to court documents.

Jeremy Ridner, 44, and Billie Bolin, 37, have been charged with first-degree criminal abuse. Their arrest citations say they knew about the boys injuries but refused to seek medical attention.

The incident happened Monday after the McCreary County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a 14-year-old boy not breathing. Court documents say the boy was transported to Wayne County Hospital, where he later died.

Autopsy results are pending.

Ridner and Bolin are being held at the Knox County Detention Center. They are to be arraigned in McCreary District Court Thursday.
