19-year-old man killed in midday Lexington shooting near Armstrong Mill Road
A 19-year-old man was shot and killed in Lexington Monday afternoon, according to the Lexington Police Department.
The shooting happened around 12:45 p.m. in the 3400 block of River Park Drive. Lexington police Lt. Nick Whitcomb said officers found one person shot at the scene, and he was transported to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The victim, later identified as Darius Gaston-Garner, died at the hospital.
No information about a suspect was released.
