Man charged with murder in shooting on Ohio Street in Lexington; investigation continues

A man was arrested on Friday and charged with murder in connection to a fatal shooting in Lexington earlier this week.

Phillip McElroy, 32, has been charged in the death of Tai’ Maricus Warner, 24, who died at the scene of the shooting on the 400 block of Ohio Street just after midnight on Tuesday, the Lexington Police Department said.

Warner’s death was Lexington’s fifth homicide of 2025, and the third in one week.

Police said they are continuing to investigate the shooting.
