KY man charged in double homicide after police found him naked and covered in blood

A 19-year-old Kentucky man has been charged with two counts of murder after police found him inside a car naked and covered in blood.

Christopher Taulbee, 19, of Carlisle, was arrested April 3 and charged with murder in the Bourbon County deaths of Dixieana Brainard and an unknown man. The killings happened earlier that day.

Police found Taulbee when they noticed a car pulled to the side of the road that was missing a driver’s side front door and had a flat tire. When police approached the vehicle, they found Taulbee naked with blood on his hands and chest, according to a police citation.

He was charged with several traffic violations and possession of marijuana. Upon further investigation, police charged Taulbee with two counts of murder.

Kentucky State Police stated Taulbee shot Brainard in the forehead, according to court documents.

Taulbee and Brainard had a child together, according to police. The male victim was in a relationship with Brainard, police said.

Taulbee is believed to have stabbed the man in the throat and hit him with a baseball bat.

Police stated Taulbee brought an unnamed witness to the scene of the crime after the killing. The male victim was still alive, and the witness told police he watched Taulbee hit the man multiple times in the head with the bat.

Taulbee is being held on a $2 million bond and is scheduled to appear for his arraignment in Bourbon County Circuit Court on Wednesday.
