Driver accused of crashing into Lexington bar, multiple vehicles, fleeing scene
A man accused of crashing into Silk’s Lounge in downtown Lexington, as well as multiple vehicles, in February has been charged, according to court documents.
Kristopher Wackowski, 23, is charged with three counts of leaving the scene of an accident/failure to render aid or assistance and seven counts of first-degree wanton endangerment, according to court records. His arrest citation says he crashed into two vehicles and the front of the Silk’s Lounge on North Mill Street before fleeing the scene.
There were several people in front of the bar, some of whom sustained injuries, when Wackowski drove through it, according to his arrest citation. Another person was injured when they attempted to stop Wackowski and were thrown from the car.
The incident happened early Feb. 15, according to the Lexington Police Department. Court documents say police spoke to Wackowski about one month later, and he admitted to causing the collisions and fleeing.
The incident was also captured on video, according to court documents. Police said the Hit and Run Unit conducted the investigation.
