Kentucky woman accused of driving drunk and hitting, killing pedestrian in Clay City

A Kentucky woman faces multiple charges after she allegedly hit and killed a pedestrian while driving drunk, according to Kentucky State Police.

The collision occurred on Main Street near Dairy Queen in Clay City. KSP said 25-year-old Alyson Martin, of Jeffersonville, was driving a Buick Encore and hit 42-year-old Ross Hicks, of Mt. Sterling.

Hicks was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, according to KSP. Martin was arrested and charged with vehicular homicide while under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence, leaving the scene of a accident/failure to render aid and tampering with physical evidence.

Martin is being held at the Montgomery County Detention Center. KSP said it’s investigating the wreck.
