Man dead after shooting on Nicholasville Road. Police searching for suspect

A man was killed in a shooting on Nicholasville Road in Lexington on Wednesday, according to the Lexington Police Department.

The shooting happened around 5:20 p.m. in the 3800 block of Nicholasville Road. Police said they received a report of shots fired, and arriving officers found a man suffering from a gunshot wound.

The man was declared dead on scene, according to police. The Fayette County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as 25-year-old Zemondric Hall of Lexington.

Hall was declared dead at 6:15 p.m. Wednesday from multiple gunshot wounds, the coroner’s office said.

No suspect information was provided.

Police encouraged people in the area of the shooting to check their surveillance cameras and contact police if they have footage that can help with the investigation.

This is the city’s seventh homicide of 2025, the first since May 2, according to police data.
