Local and federal authorities attempted to serve a “high-risk” arrest warrant in a Central Kentucky neighborhood Thursday, but the sought suspect was not found, according to the Nicholasville Police Department.

The operation happened at a home on Shelby Way, which is near East Jessamine Middle School and Red Oak Elementary School in Jessamine County. Police said they were working with the USMarshals Service to serve the warrant, but the wanted person was not home.

The operation was based on information gathered by marshals during an investigation, according to police. No information about the operation or the wanted person was released.

Spokespeople for the police department and Marshals Service were not immediately available for additional comment.

People were encouraged not to travel to and through the area while authorities were at the scene.
