Police capture two escapees from Blackburn Correctional Complex
Two inmates who escaped Blackburn Correctional Complex Saturday evening have been apprehended, according to Kentucky State Police.
Michael Reynolds, 32, of Russellville, and Jonathan Mullins, 30, of Somerset, could not be located shortly after they were discovered missing.
Blackburn Correctional Complex officials contacted Kentucky State Police about the escapees around 9 p.m. Saturday. It was unclear how the two men escaped.
The two men were captured Sunday by the Versailles Police Department, and are being held at Woodford County Detention Center.
Sgt. John Costigan and K9 partner Nico tracked and located the men with the help of drone technology.
Reynolds is 5 feet, 8 inches tall and weighs 192 pounds. He has brown hair and blue eyes. He was being held in the facility for charges of criminal mischief and wanton endangerment, according to KSP.
Mullins is 5 feet tall and weighs 180 pounds, according to KSP. He has brown hair and brown eyes. He is in prison on charges of second-degree robbery and theft by unlawful taking.
Blackburn Correctional Complex is Kentucky’s largest adult male minimum-security institution prison and is located on Spurr Road in Lexington.
