Two men dead after being shot in Lexington overnight. Woman charged with murder.

Two men died after being shot in Lexington early Saturday, and a woman has been charged in their murders.

Deborah Weiss, 69, was arrested at the scene of the shootings on Russell Cave Road and has been charged with two counts of murder, the Lexington Police Department said Saturday afternoon.

Lexington police found the two men with gunshot wounds when they were called to the 1700 block of Russell Cave Road at about 3:20 a.m. to investigate a shooting with a victim, police said in a news release.

Both men were pronounced dead at the scene. The Fayette County Coroner’s Office had not released their names as of 2:30 p.m. Saturday.

Weiss was being held in the Fayette County Detention Center.

“At this time, all parties have been identified, and Personal Crimes Detectives are continuing to investigate,” police said in a news release Saturday morning.

The deaths mark the city’s 14th and 15th homicides this year. There had been eight homicides in Lexington at the same point in 2024 and 13 by the same point in 2023, according to the Lexington Police Department’s website.
