Police investigating overnight shooting in downtown Lexington

Police are investigating an overnight shooting in downtown Lexington.

Officers were called around 2 a.m. Friday to the 300 block of West Short Street for a report of a shooting. One person was shot, and a business was hit by gunfire.

The injured person was taken to the hospital and is expected to recover, police said.

Police did not say what business was hit by gunfire, or what damage the business sustained.

Police said they do not have any details on the shooter, and their investigation is ongoing.
