Police searched the campus of the Kentucky School for the Deaf on Friday afternoon after a threat was made on Facebook, Kentucky Education Commissioner Robbie Fletcher said in a news release.

Danville police and Kentucky State Police were notified of the threat around 2 p.m., and the campus went on lockdown. No students were at the school at the time.

The lockdown was lifted about 40 minutes later after Danville police searched the campus and found nothing of concern. Police did not indicate what kind of threat was made.

“We will provide as much assistance as possible to determine who made the threat,” Fletcher said. “The safety of the students and staff in Kentucky’s schools will always be our top priority.”
