Person seriously injured in daytime shooting in Lexington, police say

One person was seriously hurt in a daytime shooting in Lexington on Thursday, according to the Lexington Police Department.

The shooting happened around 11:10 a.m. in the area of Winburn Drive and McCullough Drive. That intersection is near Russell Cave Road.

Police said a man was shot and taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.

There is no ongoing threat to the public, police said. No information was provided about a suspect.
