Man shot, seriously injured in Lexington’s Cardinal Valley neighborhood

A man was seriously injured in a shooting Sunday night in Lexington, according to city police.

Police received multiple reports of shots fired around 9:40 p.m. near the 1000 block of Village Drive, in the city’s Cardinal Valley neighborhood.

Lt. Nick Whitcomb said responding officers found a man with a gunshot wound in the 2000 block of Devonport Drive, just off Village Drive.

The man was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries, Whitcomb said.

No information about a suspect was available as of Monday morning. The investigation into the shooting remains ongoing.
