Man in Central Kentucky dies in suspected drunk driving crash

A man was killed in a suspected drunk driving, head-on collision in Scott County on Wednesday night, according to the Scott County Sheriff’s Office.

The crash happened around 7:43 p.m. on Frankfort Road. The sheriff’s office said an SUV was driving westbound and crossed the center line into the eastbound lane, colliding with a pickup truck.

The driver of the pickup truck was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the sheriff’s office. The man’s name is being withheld until immediate family members are notified.

The initial investigation showed the SUV driver may have been distracted, and alcohol is suspected to have contributed to the crash, the sheriff’s office said. The Georgetown Scott County Collision Reconstruction Team investigated the scene, and the investigation is ongoing.
