Suspect accused of shooting, killing woman in Kentucky found dead, police say
The suspect accused of shooting and killing a woman Monday in Meade County has been found dead, according to Kentucky State Police.
The shooting happened at a home on Simpson Lane in the Ekron community of Meade County. State police say Mary Crase, 55 was fatally shot by Scott Hornback, 45, who fled from the home before officers arrived.
The Meade County Sheriff’s Office contacted state police around 12:55 p.m. to investigate. Just before 9:30 p.m., Hornback was found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound in a vehicle at a family member’s residence on Burgundy Lane, state police said.
The incident is being investigated by state police.
Hornback had a criminal record and previously served prison time for sexual abuse and fleeing police convictions.
Hornback also has a history of domestic violence. He has been accused of domestic violence in four separate Kentucky civil cases, but only once was a restraining order issued to Hornback — a three-year order in 2010.
